SK8 OR DIE

SK8 OR DIE is a documentary movie about a small group of skateboarders in the city of Joensuu, Finland during the 1990's. Aggressive use of urban environment, Do-It-Yourself mentality - inspired by the global depression, music and visual arts and systematic anti-racism were things that separated skateboarders from the masses. These things combined with distinguishable clothing were enough to cause problems with the surrounding society and with the racist skinheads that emerged in the streets at the same time. Skateboarders lived and breathed the culture that they created out of nothing, without organizations or fundings. How these former "outcast" feel about skateboarding today, when it has exploded to mainstream and it's been exploited by global companies and brands. Can you still find the same spark? Or even a reason to live?"
